Original abstract
Baroreflex sensitivity (BRS in ms/mmHg, BRSf in Hz/mmHg) determined by spectral analysis of blood pressure and pulse intervals variability (beat-to-beat recordings, Finapres) were compared in the following age-groups: age in years – number of subjects (11 years – 29 subjects, 12 -50, 13 – 64, 14 – 43, 15 – 44). Resting puls interval increased significantly with age, BRSf significantly decreased with age and BRS was age independent. BRS correlated with a resting mean pulse interval for the whole group and also in subgroups related to age.
