125 Years of Creating the Future
The history of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Brno University of Technology began exactly 125 years ago. Since its establishment in 1899, the faculty has become a key center for technical education and research. Generations of talented students and top scientists have shaped and continue to shape the future, not only of mechanical engineering but of the entire industrial world. Today, after 125 years of innovation, collaboration, and success, we proudly reflect on our past and move forward with determination to face the challenges of the future.

Open Day24. 1. 2025
Presentation of study options for those interested in studying Mechanical engineering at BUT. The event is also open to graduates who are interested in visiting the laboratories and finding out what topics researchers from individual institutes are currently working on.
The nearest Open Day is on Friday 24 January 2025 from 9am to 2pm.
Exhibition of 125 Years of FME10. 2. 2025 – 31. 12. 2025
The exhibition on the history of the faculty will be on the ground floor of the A5 building from the beginning of the summer semester, 10 February 2025. Please stop by, wish FME a happy birthday, and learn more about its past! The exhibit will be on display until the end of the 2025 calendar year.

Career Fair5. 3. 2025 – 6. 3. 2025
The traditional career fair for engineering students at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Students have the opportunity to agree with the representatives of the exhibiting companies on the possibilities of internships, internships, part-time jobs, diploma theses or get a job.
The two-day fair will be held on March 5 and 6, 2025.
Student ball13. 3. 2025
The Student Chamber of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering invite all students, employees and graduates to the ball to be held on 13 March 2025 in the Semilasso Social Centre. You can look forward to dancing to a live band, a bar, a café with refreshments and a party with a DJ at the end. There will also be an entertainment programme and a photo booth.
Faculty representative ball21. 3. 2025
On the first Friday of this spring, the traditional representative ball of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering will take place at the Hotel International Brno. In the evening, Ondřej Havelka and his Melody Makers will perform in the main hall. Visitors can also look forward to dulcimer music by Grajcar and a band that will play modern music in the Plzeňka hall.
The ball will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025. Tickets can be bought online, sales will start in January.
Gold graduation24. 5. 2025
On the occasion of the celebration of the 125th anniversary of its founding, FSI is organizing the Golden Graduation of BUT graduates. It is a solemn academic ceremony after 50 years since graduation, which will be held in the faculty hall. The graduates will thus remember the graduation ceremony and will be presented with a commemorative diploma.
Ceremonial meeting of the Scientific Board of FME4. 6. 2025
On the occasion of the celebration of the 125th anniversary, a festive meeting of the Scientific Board of FME will be held. Medals and awards of the Dean of FME will be presented during the Board. The event will take place in the auditorium at the FME and is by invitation only.
Rollout Dragon e56. 6. 2025
The TU Brno Racing student team is developing a brand new race car for the 2025 season. The rollout of the student formula Dragon e5 will take place on the team's home ground, i.e. in the Q auditorium at FSI VUT. The event is for invited guests only.

Main day of the celebration of 125 years + Researchers' Night26. 9. 2025
Experience a special day where tradition meets modern science. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of BUT in Brno invites you to the main day of the celebration of the 125th anniversary of its founding, which will take place simultaneously with the Researchers' Night. An inspiring program full of lectures, interactive workshops, tours of historical exhibits and high-tech demonstrations awaits you.

Exhibition "125 years of innovation for the future"29. 9. 2025 – 27. 10. 2025
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering will present the amazing world of mechanical engineering with a panel exhibition "125 years of innovation for the future", which will be available from September 29 to October 27 in the center of Brno on Moravské náměstí. Outside of this period, the exhibition will be on display in front of the main FSI high-rise building at Technická Street 2.
Sports race "Engineering Stairs"12. 11. 2025
Which competitor will conquer the 18 floors of the A1 high-rise building the fastest? And will the record in the category of students-men be broken this year as well? The sports race in the A1 high-rise building will not be missing this year either. Come and test your strength against others in individual or relay races, which are open to students, employees, graduates and company representatives.
The race will take place one day during November.
