Due to the coronavirus situation, the schedule of the academic year has been adjusted so that students have enough time to pass the exams, to complete the final thesis and to prepare for the final state exams.
Except for the summer dates of the State Final Examinations, substitute dates in autumn will also be organized this year. Students do not need to submit any special request for the substitute date, and in exceptional cases, the Final State Examinations may take a distant form. These measures have been taken to ensure the same conditions for all groups of students and to keep the high level of the education.
Final theses
Due to a number of limitations that the current situation has brought, diploma theses and bachelor's theses will be submitted in electronic form only. The thesis must be uploaded by IS Studis, in the tab "My final thesis" by June 26, 2020, in case of participation in the final examination by an alternative date by September 25, 2020.
As in previous years, the evaluation of the thesis by supervisor and the opponent's opinions will be published no later than 3 days before the defense.
Final state examinations
Application form for final state examination is already available to the final-year students in the information system Studis in “Application for the Final State Examination“. The final state examinations will take place from 13 July to 14 August 2020. The application shall be submitted by 5 June 2020. Should there be any reason for not applying for the regular date of the Final State Examination, a student may apply also for a substitute date that will be organized in autumn from 12 October to 23 October 2020. The application for the substitute date of the Final State Examination can be submitted from 17 August to 28 August 2020. Students are not required to submit any special request for granting the substitute term this year. If a substitute date cannot be organized due to the current extraordinary situation, a student will be entitled to request a distant form of the final examination. This request shall be duly substantiated and submitted to the Office for Studies. A student who receives a negative decision regarding this request, shall pass the Final State Examination in the upcoming academic year. Distant form is acceptable also for the members of the Examination committee for the final state examination.
Graduation
Unfortunately, the graduation ceremony will not take place this academic year. Diplomas will be issued at the study department, additional information will be given directly to final year students.
