The invention of a device for the purification of liquids using low-temperature plasma from the Victor Kaplan Department of Fluid Engineering in cooperation with Masaryk University and the Institute of Botany of the Czech Academy of Sciences was announced the best technology at the Transfera Technology Technology 2020.
With the device by researcher Pavel Rudolf and his team, one can remove chemical residues from the water, such as estrogens from contraception, and kill pathogenic microorganisms such as cyanobacteria and bacteria. Until now, similar devices have existed only on a laboratory scale; on the contrary, the new invention has the potential to handle large volumes of water and thus to find use in practice.
Transfera Technology Day 2020 was organized by the Transfera.cz association in cooperation with the CzechInvest and its goal was to connect Czech science and the business environment. The projects were evaluated by an expert jury of investors and renowned advisors.
Congratulations to colleagues on a well-deserved victory!
