Eight students from BUT – eight bachelor's degree graduates who tested their strengths in the annual presentation competition "8 from BUT", which took place in the form of online presentations due to the pandemic this year. The winner of the 8th year of the competition was Michael Rosický from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, who impressed the jury with his presentation of the work Analysis of mechanical properties of orthopaedic insoles made by 3D printing.
"I approached the solution experimentally using my own test equipment and finite element modelling. I further extended the computational model with stress analysis. The aim was to analyze the effect of shape profiles, or ribs, on the flexural and torsional stiffness of orthopaedic insoles made by 3D printing, "explained the focus of his bachelor's thesis Rosický, who received the most points in the jury evaluation.
