Last week, the FME held inaugural talks on the possibilities of expanding its current international research and educational cooperation to include cooperation with an African partner, specifically with the University of Lomé (UoL) from the African state of Togo.
The interviews were initiated within the internationalization stay at FME by prof. Marcus Reppich from the German Augsburg University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) and assoc. prof. Zdeněk Jegla from the Institute of Process Engineering FME (IPE FME) based on the mandate and interest of the African partner in this wider international research cooperation, which is based on the current partial successful research and educational cooperation of all three entities (i.e., IPE FME, AUAS and UoL).
These initiation interviews were led by the FME vice-dean for international studies assoc. prof. Vladimír Fuis, who supported the FME internationalization intention with an African partner and emphasized the considerable potential of research and teaching activities that this wider cooperation can bring for individual FME institutes and their students. The specifics of an African partner require, for example, in the field of process engineering (and not only there) to focus joint research in the field of smart, simple, efficient, and robust solutions.
Those interested in participating in initiated cooperation with an African partner from individual institutes of FME can contact assoc. prof. Zdeněk Jegla from IPE.
