The sixth edition of the SVS FEM competition for the best student Ansys project was dominated by students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the BUT, who took the first three places. The competition focuses on solving any original problem in Ansys, Rocky DEM, ParticleWorks or custom code software.
The winners are decided by the scientific board of the competition, which consists of SVS FEM staff and external specialists. In addition to the students, the organiser also rewards the leaders of their work.
- 1st place was awarded to FME student Ondřej Pánek for his diploma thesis "DETERMINATION OF RESIDUAL FATIGUE LIFETIME OF RAILWAY AXLE AFTER SURFACE TREATMENT"
- 2nd prize was awarded to FME student Jakub Dohnal for his thesis "COMPUTATIONAL ANALYSIS OF AUXETIC STRUCTURES APPLICATION POTENTIAL IN IMPACT
ABSORBERS" - 3rd place was awarded to FME student Anežka Michálková for her diploma thesis DEFORMATION AND DAMAGE OF TUBE BUNDLE BENDS DUE TO TEMPERATURE
The award for outstanding work went to Tomáš Paveza from the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.
