Over 670 exhibitors from the general aviation industry presented themselves at this year's 29th edition of AERO Friedrichshafen. For the second year, students of the Institute of Aerospace Engineering had the opportunity to attend the event and get a first-hand taste of the industry trends that will influence their future careers.
Europe's largest general aviation exhibition took place from 19 to 22 April at Messe Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance. This year, the students of the FME´s Institute of Aerospace Engineering were also present at the event, with a total of fourteen students and two teachers. "Nowhere else in the Czech Republic is it possible to see the diversity of the field in such breadth. The AERO trade fair presents world leaders, but also various job opportunities and new trends that concern not only aircraft, but also propulsion," says the organiser of the excursion, Filip Sklenář from the Institute of Aerospace Engineering.
The development of electric aircraft is on the rise and some companies are also starting to develop hydrogen propulsion. In addition to new propulsion systems and efforts to make air transport more environmentally friendly, this year the fair also presented drones and unmanned aerial vehicles in a separate hall, with a particular focus on use by emergency services.
