The seventh edition of the SVS FEM competition for the best student Ansys project once again showed the potential of students in the field of numerical simulations. Natália Pločeková, a student of FEEC, took the first place, the other two places were taken by FME students Jiří Janečka and Michal Dorniak.
The competition focuses on solving any original problem in Ansys, Rocky DEM, ParticleWorks or custom code software. The winners are decided by the competition's scientific board, which consists of both SVS FEM employees and external specialists. In addition to the students, the supervisors of their work also receive a prize.
Jiří Janečka, who took home the silver medal, impressed the jury with his bachelor's thesis, in which he designed a crashbox for a new student formula car. Student Michal Dorniak took third place with his thesis on Combustion air flow in a rotary kiln burner.
Matěj Kubík from the Institute of Solid Mechanics, Mechatronics and Biomechanics also won the jury award for his thesis on Computational modelling of isovolumic contraction of left ventricle.
Congratulations to all the winners!
