The student photography club Technika Brno has prepared a series of three lectures entitled "Through the Southern Ocean to Antarctica". During November, Professor Miloslav Druckmüller presents himself as a passionate traveller and nature photographer. The last episode focusing on South Orkney, Antarctica and South Shetland will take place in Hall Q on Wednesday 20 November at 19:00.
"Through the professor's photographic viewfinder we have the opportunity to look at unique places on our planet. From our side, the series is a symbolic gift for his anniversary, which he celebrated this autumn, and also a thank you for making our photography club an official guarantor of the professor," says Václav Široký, the head of the club Technika Brno.
"In the first part, the professor described the hardships of arriving in the Land of Fire in the form of lost luggage and also sailing with the expedition ship towards the Falklands. The talk not only showed the beauty of the local fauna and flora through the camera, but the audience also learned about the bloody history of the fighting for this island. In the second talk, he sailed from the Falklands to South Georgia in search of colonies of penguins, sea lions and ospreys. The talk was once again interspersed with a historical window on the heroic expedition of polar explorer E. H. Shackelton and his comrades," adds Broad, inviting all those interested to the final session focusing on South Orkney, Antarctica and South Shetland, which takes place in Q Auditorium on Wednesday, November 20 at 7pm.
