A special year is upon us this year: the faculty will celebrate 125 years of its foundation! Whether you are one of our staff, students, alumni or partners, we would love to have you join us.
With the start of the summer semester, you can come across an exhibition on the history of our faculty in the A5 building, complete with a space where you too can wish FME a happy 125th birthday. During the spring months, we will then be hosting the Faculty Representation Ball, the Student Ball, the Golden Graduation Ceremony for graduates after 50 years and other events. In the fall, the culmination of the celebration will take place with the Researchers' Night, which this year falls on Friday, September 26.
In the meantime, you can flip through a new publication that looks back at the history and icons of our faculty. In 52 pages, the Czech-English booklet 125xFME presents the development of the Faculty, its symbols and the gallery of deans. You can read about our campus, the historic turbine, the statue of a female student, and the history of the Engineering Stairs plant, to name a few. You can view or download an electronic version of the publication here.
And because the faculty was and is made up primarily of people, you too are part of our history. To help you share your memories and photos with us, we have prepared a simple contact form, which you can find here.
Throughout the year, the website www.fme.vutbr.cz/125 is available to provide updates and a schedule of celebrations.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our events!
