Learning outcomes of the course unit

The course widens the knowledge of theory of internal combustion engines and improves students´ position on the labour market.

Prerequisites

Students need to have the knowledge from appropriate courses of theoretical basics of Master degree study programme at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Technology in Brno.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The graded course-unit credit is awarded on the basis of active participation in exercises and correctly elaborated assignments. It consists of written and oral parts. It verifies the knowledge of topics presented at lectures and exercises.

Aims

The course provides an overview of alternative propulsion units and modern methods of tuning, efficiency, and ecologic parameters.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Seminars are obligatory, checked by a teacher. The way of compensation of missed lessons (in justified cases) is solved individually with the course guarantee person.
