Learning outcomes of the course unit
Knowledge about physical phenomena and matter properties at low temperatures, basics for work in low temperature laboratory (1,5 K – 300 K).
Prerequisites
Basic course of physics.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Teaching is suplemented by practical laboratory work.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
The condition for award of the course-unit credit is a student’s work: design of a simple cryogenic equipment or experiment
Aims
The aim of the course is to present basics of low temperature physics, technology and design of low temperature equipment for physical experiments and other applications.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Absence has to be compensated by self-study or assigned homework. Presence in laboratory exercises is obligatory.
