Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students will gain essential knowledge of ventilation, air-conditioning and heating systems, evaluation of indoor air quality and the means of noise reduction.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of physics, mathematics and thermomechanics.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
Graded course-unit credit requirements: passing two tests in 7th and 13th week of the term.
Aims
The course objective is to make students familiar with the basic concepts and techniques used to create an optimal indoor environment. Students will learn of the design and operation of equipments of thermal and humidity comfort (heating/cooling/humidification/dehumidification), air cleanliness control, impacts of nois on human and means of noise reduction in working environment.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Knowledge revision in the form of two compulsory tests in 7th and 13th week of the term. Missed lessons/tests, in justified cases, will be compensated by an additional test.
