Measurement of Mechanical and Electrical Quantities

FSI-RV0 Acad. year: 2019/2020 Summer semester

Measurement systems – classification and characteristics. Non-automated measurement systems. Procedure of automated, elements of automated measurement systems. RS 232 and IEEE 488 interface. Sensors for measurement.
Test and measurement software – basic requirements, description of the systems. Workplace for automation measurements – basic components.
Measurement program of examples.

Measurement system proposal and methods of elements selection.

Prerequisites

Basic of Electrical Engineering, minimal knowledge of electrical machines and apparatus.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Laboratory exercise attending and proceedings 30 points
Individual project 30 points
Final test 40 points

Measureement systems classification, procedure of automated. System elements – sensors, actuators, interface etc.
Measurement software presentation

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Attendance at practical training is obligatory.
