Computer Support in Power Engineering

The course is intended to develop skills necessary to produce a written and electronic presentations. It familiarises students with currently available software used for solving of thermal and fluid flow problems.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be able to create their seminar works and diploma theses with the help of a text editor Word. Excel will be introduced for mathematical applications, as well as other software for energy applications.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of designing and operating of energy assemblies is required.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through exercises which are focused on practical topics presented in lectures. Participation in the exercise is mandatory.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Active participation and acceptable seminar works are required. The seminar works will be completed with the help of CyclePad and Excel software.

Aims

The aim of the course is to familiarise students with available software applicable in the engineering practice with focus on energy engineering.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Creating of two seminar works with the help of Word and Excel software.
