Czech Language 1
FSI-1CJ Acad. year: 2019/2020 Winter semester
The course Czech (1CJ) is prepared as an introductory course of Czech language for foreigners. It is offered to international students who want to acquaint themselves with the basics of Czech language. The course will introduce the students to elementary communication skills and provide them with basic knowledge of Czech grammar. Particular attention will be paid to the specifics of Czech pronunciation.

Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students will be made familiar with the specific features of Czech pronunciation and will be able to use elementary grammar and vocabulary for simple communication.

The course is intended for beginners.

Language instruction as an extension of basic professional curriculum.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
Students' work is systematically checked by the teacher. Course-unit credit is conditioned by active attendance and participation in the seminars and by meeting specific requirements of the teacher. The course is concluded by an exam in the form of a written test. In addition, the teacher takes into consideration overall performance of students in the seminars.
Aims
The aim of the course is to make international students familiar with the basics of Czech language needed for elementary communication.

Students are requested to attend the seminars actively and work out all assigned tasks.
