Design and CAD

FSI-CKC Acad. year: 2020/2021 Winter semester

The course introduces students to the possibilities of design in CAD systems. Students will gain practical experience in 2D drawing and 3D modelling using CAD systems. Students will be familiar with design methodology in the application on the assembly unit. Students elaborate a complex project with full support of CAD programs.

Language of instruction

Czech

Number of ECTS credits

7

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will gain an overview of the CAD systems and get experience with programs AutoCAD and Inventor. They become familiar with the creation of parts and assemblies, adaptivity, parameter setting, volume and surface modelling and drafting. They will apply practically the acquired knowledge within the individually defined machine design task with the possibility to apply his / her original solution to the problem.

Prerequisites

The knowledge of the appurtenances of component drawings and assembly units.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through exercises which are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Graded course-unit credit requirements: attendance at seminars and evaluation of the semester project (max. 100 points). Final classification according to ECTS.

Aims

Aim of the course is a synthesis of partial knowledge acquired in previous mechanical design courses and practical application of CAD graphic systems within the design of the structural unit. Students elaborate a complex project with full support of CAD programs.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Attendance at seminars is required and controlled. Maximum of two authorized absences without compensation of lesson are tolerated.
