Power Machines

FSI-DST Acad. year: 2020/2021 Summer semester

The course provides students with basic knowledge of power generation engineering. The power machines include thermal cycles, steam boilers, gas and steam turbines, and power plants including environmental impact.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student will obtain overall knowledge power engineering and power machines.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of general mathematics and physics

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures. Participation in the exercise is mandatory.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Credit requirements:successfully passed a test during the semester. The examination consists of an oral and written parts.

Aims

The course familiarises students with work of power engineering plants.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Participation in the exercises is systematically controlled.
