Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students learn of the development and present condition of design of piston combustion engines and their parts.
Prerequisites
The student needs to have knowledge appropriate courses of theoretical basics of bachelor study programme at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Technology, Brno
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Teaching is suplemented by practical laboratory work.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
The credit is suspended by active participation in exercises and correctly elaborated acts. The exam checks the knowledge from lectures and exercises, consists of written and oral parts.
Aims
The aim of the course is to make students familiar with fundamental principles of combustion engines, their properties, characteristics and the engine design.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Seminars are obligatory, checked by a teacher. The way of compensation of missed lessons (in justified cases) is solved individually with the course guarantee person.
