Learning outcomes of the course unit
The students will be made familiar with all types of modern welding technologies. They will be able to apply these technologies to the machine construction manufacturing and steel constructions. They will be able to use an independent creative attitude to the elaboration of welding procedure.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of science of material, body mechanics and physics.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Teaching is suplemented by practical laboratory work.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
The examination has a written and an oral part, and the final classification will be in accordance with the Rules for Studies and Examinations. Course-unit credit requirements: participation in the exercises, delivery of assigned papers.
It is classificated to the ECTS grading scale
Aims
The main objective of the course is to provide students with the theoretical foundations of welding technologies. Students will acquire knowledge necessary for a creative and complex solution of industrial applications.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Attendance in lectures is recommended. Attendance at seminars is compulsory. Absence may be compensated for by the agreement with the teacher who can set a special programme to be worked out.
