Learning outcomes of the course unit
The student will learn to recognize the basic components of refrigerating equipment and heat pumps, to operate these equipment and to identify common operating conditions and failures.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of thermodynamics and electrical engineering.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is taught through exercises which are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
Credit is awarded for active participation in exercises and laboratory measurements
Aims
Students will acquire basic knowledge and skills necessary for operation and maintenance of cooling equipment and heat pumps. Completion of the course will provide students with a sufficient basis to pass the professional examinations required by current legislation for service and maintenance of heat pumps.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Participation in the exercises is voluntary.
