Course detail
Motor Vehicles
FSI-FAU Acad. year: 2021/2022 Winter semester
Comprehensive presentation of basic problems in designing vehicles. The course focuses on motor cars, and commercial motor vehicles. Students will be made familiar with the main development trends in the field presented on theoretical analysis of solved problems. Theoretical knowledge acquired in the previous study will be applied to concrete problems.

Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students will be have an overview of the current situation in design of undercart parts of vehicles, and will be able to forecast their development. Students will acquire knowledge necessary for an independent design activities.
Prerequisites
The student needs to have knowledge appropriate courses of theoretical basics of bachelor study programme at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Technology, Brno
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Teaching is suplemented by practical laboratory work.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
Graded course-unit credit is awarded on condition of having attended the seminars, and passed control tests. Examination tests student’s knowledge of presented study material. The exam has a written and an oral part.
Aims
The aim of the course is make students familiar with the design of undercart parts of motor cars and trucks, buses and vehicle trains.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Attendance at seminars is compulsory and systematically checked by the teacher. Absence may be in justified cases compensated for by the agreement with the course supervisor.
