Learning outcomes of the course unit
The course enables students to understand the function, construction, and fundamental calculations of machines in the technological processes in civil engineering, and makes them familiar with producers and design for technological complexes.
Prerequisites
Successful completion of the course is conditional on the knowledge of technical mechanics, physics, higher mathematics, machine parts and their mechanisms, physics of materials and principles of electrical engineering.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
The course-unit credit is awarded on condition of having attended the exercises and worked out calculating tasks. Examination tests student’s knowledge and skills, and the ability to apply them in practice.
Aims
The objective is for students to have an overview of machines and equipment in technological processes in civil engineering. Students will be provided with a basis for selection of machines and for designing of technological sequences, for projects of industrial plants.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Attendance at exercises is obligatory and checked by the teacher. Absence may be in justified cases compensated for by the agreement with the course supervisor.
