Airport I

The course Airport I is concerned with legislative, operating and technical conditions of the airport traffic in Czech Republic. The course is based on the Annex 14 of Convention on International Civil Aviation.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be made familiar with the operational conditions of the airport. They will learn of scientific aerial terminology related to airports.

Prerequisites

No special requirements.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The course-unit credit requirements: passing the test (75 % at the minimum), the test results are discussed with students. The exam has an oral part only, based on a set of three lot-drawn questions. In case of doubts, an additional question may be asked.

Aims

The course objective is to make students familiar with the airport as an element of the air traffic, and of operating and technical requirements for the infrastructure and airport operation in accordance with current legislation.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The attendance at both lectures and seminars is compulsory (80% at the minimum), and it is checked and recorded. The absence (in justifiable cases) can be compensated by personal consultation with the lecturer and working out individually assignments. Individual assignments must be finished and handed in during the course-unit credit week at the latest.
