Introduction to Design of Scientific Instruments gives a basic overview of mechanical design for optical devices. Students are introduced into the computer design of mechanical systems particularly.

Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students will acquire skills in technical drawing. They will acquire knowledge of basic machine parts, normed parts, and construction materials. In addition, they are familiar with the static design of structural components for optical systems.
Prerequisites
Fundamentals of mathematics and geometry
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
Student designs optical system. A short report will be classified.
Aims
The goal of the subject is to provide students an overview of the construction of mechanical assemblies for the optical devices.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Final report is controlled.
