Learning outcomes of the course unit
– The ability to elaborate a complex design of a medium difficulty, including the presentation of the achieved results.
- The ability to analyze the problem from the point of view of functional, aesthetic and technical aspects.
- The ability to determine the mutual relations of human-machine-environment system.
Prerequisites
Precondition for the course is to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and overall creative erudition in the previous study. Students have mastered the fundamentals of drawing and modeling. It is also necessary understanding of the basic spatial creation, art composition and realization of three-dimensional models.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The subject is taught in the form of seminars, which are focused on the elaboration of the bachelor's thesis under the professional guidance.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
The condition of granting a classified credit is obligatory attendance at the seminars at the scheduled hours and individual consultation with the supervisor. The approach to the given task is evaluated as well as the completeness and quality of the individual stages of the work, and the submission of the specified outputs within the given deadlines. The final evaluation consists of evaluation of individual projects. In total it will be possible to aquire 100 points. Resulting classification will be defined by the ECTS scale.
According to the article No. 13 of Study and Examination Rules of Brno University of Technology ECTS evaluation degree scale is used. . If some of the projects are awarded less than 50 pts., final evaluation of the course is "failed". The course is evaluated with the following grades: ECTS EVALUATION DEGREES / PTS. RATING / NUMERIC RATING: A / 100 – 90 / 1 / Excellent; B /89 – 80 / 1,5 / Very good; C / 79 – 70 / 2 / Good; D / 69 – 60 / Satisfactory; E / 59 – 50 / Sufficient; F / 49 – 0 / 4 / Failed.
Aims
The aim of the course is to design the industrial design of a medium-sized product (according to the bachelor's thesis) which will reflect the experience gained during the previous study of industrial design. The aim is also to examine the level of knowledge and skills gained so far in digital design.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Compulsory attendance at seminars. Education runs according to the week schedule. The way of compensation of missed seminars is specified by the tutor.
