Course detail
Logistics and Plant Transport
FSI-QLV Acad. year: 2021/2022 Winter semester
The course “Logistics and in-house transport” teaches students about concepts of logistics chain management, types of inter-object and in-house transport and principles of warehouse management. Students will learn the tools of business process management. Graduates of the course will gain knowledge about the methodology of planning logistic processes from the preparatory phase and system analysis to the use of modern computer tools including discrete material flow simulation. The course includes current trends in the field of business process digitization.

Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students will gain knowledge of logistic approaches to handling traffic-handling processes. They are able to identify appropriate logistic indicators for transport-handling systems and carry out their evaluation.
Prerequisites
Successful completion of the course is conditional on the basic knowledge of technical mechanics, physics and mathematics.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Part of the lessons are tutorials where the student applies the acquired knowledge in relation to the topic of doctoral study.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
The exam is evaluated with acquired knowledge and the ability to apply them. The exam is written with a final oral interview.
Aims
The aim of the course is to familiarize the students with logistic approaches in the handling of handling and transport processes. Assessment of logistics processes and their cross-sectional functions. Possibilities of modeling of traffic handling processes.
