Diploma Project (M-STG, Forming, Welding)
FSI-HD3-K Acad. year: 2021/2022 Summer semester
Diploma thesis is the culmination of the engineering studies and is focused on the engineering technology. The student creatively applies the knowledge obtained in the area of engineering technologies specializing in metal-forming, welding or surface treatment. The project is worked out under the guidance of a supervisor and, if necessary, consultations with specialists in the given field are provided. Project specifications from industrial companies are appreciated.

Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students will test their capacity for independent creative work and analytical reasoning in the course of collecting, processing and evaluating technical data. They will master the method of approaching the problem of elaborating a technological project.
Prerequisites
Regular completion of all the specialized courses in the field of engineering technology and in the metal-forming, welding, and surface treatment specializations.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Supervised student's work on master's thesis.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
The diploma thesis assessment is conditional on submitting the original of the diploma project in the required scope and formal layout. The diploma project is also assessed by the respective diploma leader and reviewer. The degree to which the tasks have been fulfilled and the quality of the technical report submitted are reflected in the mark awarded. The diploma project is defended viva voce and evaluated in final classification by a State Examination Board.
Aims
The objective of the course is to prove students ability to solve independently the assigned technological project and to apply comprehensively the knowledge acquired in their studies to the assigned project, as well as to elaborate a technical solution under professional guidance.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Participation in lectures and consultations is mandatory -compulsory.
Attendance is regularly checked and recorded.
Working out, reviewing, and defending viva voce the diploma project form an integral part of regular completion of MSc studies and awarding the MSc degree.
