Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students will have a clear idea of fundamental constructional principles of machines for machining and forming. They will learn today’s Czech and world machines for machining and forming, their characteristics and possibilities of their utilization.
Prerequisites
They are supposed to know machining and forming technologies. Knowledge of physical, statics, kinematics and dynamic rules. Knowledge of stress analysis. Basic knowledge of mechanization and automation. Application of machines to production lines.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures. According to the possibility of teaching can be organized lectures for students by practitioners and excursions to companies focused on activities related to the course content.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
The course-unit credit requirements: Attendance at seminars. The examination is written and oral. Students are examined from machine tools and from forming machines separately. Based on the total score, an ECTS grade is assigned to students.
Aims
The aim of the course is to make students familiar with the types of machines for machining and forming and to make them acquainted with the design principles, function, properties and using of machines in the industry. The sStudents obtain will get an overview of summary current data about current production of machining tools and forming machines in the Czech Republic and in the world.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
The attendance at lectures is recommended. Exercises are mandatory. Participation in exercises is checked and recorded. Absences may be compensated based on the agreement with the teacher.
