The course is intended to teach German as a foreign language at general level. It is focused on practical, everyday communication.

Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students will be made familiar with general vocabulary for the workplace and grammar for more difficult and independent everyday communication.
Prerequisites
The course N2 is intended for false beginners or intermediate students. It doesn´t follow up on the course N1.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Language instruction as an extension of basic professional curriculum.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
Course-unit credit is awarded on condition of having attended the seminars actively and completed all tasks, as well as fulfilled the requirements of continuous control.
The examination at level A1 CEFR consists of a written and oral part. The written part of the examination tests listening and reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary of general language. The oral part of the examination has a form of discussion held on various everyday topics.
Aims
The aim of the course is to equip students for real-life tasks, such as describing problems or giving instructions, that arise in a wide range of technical occupations.
Students will be able to communicate in more difficult situations using relevant language means, and master the elementary terms of the language for specific purposes.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Attendance at seminars is compulsory and is systematically checked by the teacher. Students are allowed to miss two seminars. Absence may be in justified cases compensated for with the consent of the teacher.
