The course is intended to teach Russian as a foreign language at general level. It is focused on practical, everyday communication for the international workplace.

Students will be made familiar with general vocabulary and simple grammar for everyday communication.

Course is intended for beginners or false beginners.

Language instruction as an extension of basic professional curriculum.

Course-unit credit is awarded on condition of having worked out all assigned tasks in e-learning (with 60% points as minimum).
Aims
The aim of the course is to equip students for real-life tasks, such as describing problems or giving instructions, that arise in daily life.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Attendance at seminars is compulsory and is systematically checked by the teacher. Absence may be in justified cases compensated for by the agreement with the teacher.

Syllabus
Introduction, Unit 1 – Cyrillic alphabet, writing, pronunciation.
Unit 1 – Introducing each other, basic phrases, nouns.
Unit 1 – Greetings, numbers, stress in pronunciation, nouns after numbers.
Unit 1,2 – Introducing each other, intonation, verb forms – timing (“learn, study, speak”).
Unit 2 – Salutations, personal data, expressing thanks and apology, pronouns.
Unit 2 – Family, education, jobs. Expressing possession – verb “have”.
Unit 2,3 – Talking about oneself, revision, questions and answers, basic communication phrases. Possessive pronouns. Verb “live”.
Unit 3 – Hobbies. Expressing likes and dislikes. Verb forms – timing I and II.
Unit 3 – Reflexive verbs. Past tense.
Unit 3,4 – Revision. Declension of nouns.
Unit 4 – Jobs, institutions. Prepositions with places. Verbs related to work.
Unit 4 – Talking about oneself.
