Specialised Seminar (N-PMO)

FSI-TSS Acad. year: 2022/2023 Summer semester

Task of seminary is to teach students so-called Popularisation to them self. They will learn how to present their branch and results to technically or naturally educated public. At seminars each student select and present a topic from their own study branch, which is close to them. Student has to discuss about the topic in the broad context, however he/she is expected to formulate his/her own point of view.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

At the final stage of their study, the students should be conscious of ideas of optics and fine mechanics and relations of their various disciplines and be capable of describing the basic principles of the optical phenomenons, optomechanical systems, and their principles.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of fundamentals and integrating ideas of optics and engineering gained by students in the courses of the study of the Precise Mechanics and Optics study program.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through exercises which are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Active participation in seminar discussions and presenting an essay.

Aims

The learning objective of the module is to reinforce students' knowledge of the fundamentals of optics and fine mechanics, train the presentation skills and popularisation of selected topics.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Attendance at seminars is obligatory.

Syllabus


Student will present two topic from the optical and construction point of view. He will choose them from a list of topics, eventually after disscussion with the lector.
