Bachelor Seminar (B-ENE)
FSI-FEE Acad. year: 2022/2023 Winter semester
Students will understand the content and formal requirements for processing a bachelor thesis. They are recommended to work on the bachelor thesis, they are familiar with the requirements for the form of the bachelor thesis and with the basic knowledge of creating longer scientific texts and the correct use of citations. Furthermore, students are acquainted with the course of the final state examination and with the requirements for students during its passing. Considerable time is devoted to the preparation of presentations and presentation.

Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students will understand the content and formal requirements for processing a bachelor thesis and their application in the processing of a longer professional text, summary of results and presentation of the achieved knowledge. Students will learn to create a curriculum fulfilling the assignment, work with text, citations, presentations and last but not least they will acquire elementary experience with presentation and rhetoric.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes: Course-unit credit is awarded on condition of having attended the seminars actively, submitting a part of the work (research, problem analysis and defining the objectives of the work) and presenting the current results of the bachelor thesis.
Aims
Learning outcomes of the course unit To acquaint students with the skills and procedures necessary for the elaboration of independent scientific-engineering work.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Individual. To be specified by the leader of the diploma thesis at the beginning of the semester.

1. How do I get started?
Types of final theses, procedures of assignment processing, structure and outline creation.
2. Formal and graphic design of the bachelor thesis.
3. Principles of word processing – Word.
4. Work with literature, citations.
5. Processing of work results – presentation.
6. Rhetoric and presentation.
7. Individual work and presentation of results incl. feedback.
