Course detail
Aircraft Manufacture
FSI-OT1 Acad. year: 2024/2025 Summer semester
The course Aircraft Manufacture acquaints students with basic methods and technology procedures applied in aircraft manufacturing. Riveting, welding, soldering, brazing and adhesive boning technologies are educated. Airframe component casting, machining, machinability of aircraft materials, canopy glazing and additive manufacturing technology are also discussed. Students learn aircraft component surface treatment, manufacture management, airframe assembling and repair technology of metal and composite structures.

Entry knowledge
Basic knowledge of a structure, phase transformations and properties of metal structural materials. Basic technological principles and methods of materials processing – welding, brazing, casting, machining.
Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
Condition for granting the credit is 90% attendance at seminars. It is also necessary to submit completed and sophisticated computational exercises. Obtaining the credit is a condition for admission to the exam. The exam is written.
Attendance at seminars is compulsory. In the case of legitimate absence, students are required to work out an alternative individual assignment. Continuous checking is done during seminars.
Aims
The objective of the course Aircraft Manufacture I is to inform of aircraft manufacture specific attributes and methods and procedures, which are necessary for design specialists.
Students acquire the knowledge necessary for evaluation of technological methods, design from technology point of view and for technology planning of component joining, casting, machining, canopy glazing, surface treatment and airframe component assembling.
