Entry knowledge
Basic principles of casting manufacture- knowledge obtained in 1st and 3rd year of the bachelorś study programme. Material science knowledge + appropriate parts of physics (liquid flow, thermomechanics, etc.)
Rules for evaluation and completion of the course
Attendance in lectures is recommended, attendance in exercises is obligatory.
Credit for exercises: semestr project – obligatory
Examination : written and oral exam.
Attendance at lessons is obligatory. Absence may be compensated for by the agreement with the lecturer.
Aims
The aim of the course is obtaining a general overview of different technologies for casting manufacture, taking into account both the type of mould and core used and also technology of mould filling by molten metal.
The course provides students with basic knowledge of possibilities of using castings in different practical applications from their design and material point of view, taking into account also quality and economy of the final product.
