Multiparametric Diagnostics of Technical Systems

FSI-9MDT Acad. year: 2024/2025 Both semester

The course is focused on multiparametric diagnostics of technical systems. Attention is paid first to introduction to technical diagnostics. Furthermore, sensor technology is briefly mentioned as an important part of technical diagnostics. The student is also acquainted with the processing of diagnostic signal. Subsequently, vibrodiagnostics is analyzed in detail with emphasis on the basics of diagnostics of various defects such as static, dynamic and moment imbalance, angular and axial misalignment, bent shaft, eccentric rotor, mechanical release. These are defects that can cause the entire technical system to be taken out of operation and thus cause significant, especially economic, losses. Diagnostics of bearings, pumps, compressors, etc. is also being solved. At present, electro-diagnostics is used within the multi-parameter diagnostics, which is a very promising diagnostic method for describing the state of technical systems. The same can be said about thermodiagnostics, tribodiagnostics, etc. All of this is part of a modern approach, namely the use of multiparametric diagnostics. Therefore, the student will also become acquainted in detail in practical and theoretical terms with the creation of a protocol from the diagnostic investigation of a particular selected technical system. A modern approach to multiparametric diagnostics is not possible without on-line diagnostics, which has become increasingly important especially in terms of methodology, hardware and software. There are many problems associated with this, such as analysis, automation and visualization of big data. Attention is also paid to the use of new modern trends such as digital twin. In the field of multiparametric diagnostics, the use of various methods of artificial intelligence and machine learning is promising.

Entry knowledge

Prerequisites and co-requisites knowledge of high school mathematics, physics, electrical engineering is expected and basic knowledge of automation and eventually computer science is welcome.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

For the exam students study the prescribed substance. Further, they will elaborate in writing to a specified extent a specific topic from the field of multiparametric diagnostics, whose defense is part of the oral exam. Oral exam takes place after defending a written topic in the field of multiparametric diagnostics in the form of a discussion over problems according to the syllabus of the subject.

The course is realized in the form of lectures, consultations and self-study is required. Consultations should be attended in order to master the required curriculum. Consultations are checked.

Aims

Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to gain theoretical and practical knowledge and experience in the field of diagnostics of technical systems with emphasis on new modern approaches and procedures.

In the sense of the annotation and syllabus, the student will gain extensive and comprehensive knowledge in the field of multiparametric diagnostics of technical systems, which will enable him to eruditely engage in the solution of various technical problems in industrial engineering and electrical engineering practice.
