Course detail

Special Technology of Production

FSI-ESV-K Acad. year: 2024/2025 Winter semester

The course deals with machining technology – formation of chips, machineability of materials, cutting tool wear , possibilities of evaluation of cutting process, application of mathematical optimalization methods.
The course focuses also on possibilities of metal forming ( cutting, bending, deep drawing, spinning, special methods ), methods of material separating, methods of solid forming ( coining, extrusion, forging). All technologies include the whole technological processes and evaluation of formed materials.

Language of instruction

Entry knowledge

Basic knowledge of manufacturing technology – production of steel and its treatment, kinds of materials. Basic information about common used technology of machinning, forming, welding and casting.

Rules for evaluation and completion of the course

Course-unit credit is awwarded on condition of having attended the all exercises worked out assigned projects during semester.
The exam has a written (or test) and oral part and tests the knowledge acquired injectures and exercises.

Attendance at all exercises is necessary. Missed lessons may be compensated for via a make-up tasks by arrangement with the teacher.

Aims

The aim is for students to learn the base ways of designing the technological processes for machinning or forming operations. including the evaluation of material of parts and of tools as well as for tools, including the use of appropriate mathematical methods.

Students will acquire the skills in designing an optimum technological process for particular component including evaluation of technological shape of parts using applied mathematical procedures.
