Research and development are focused on environmental technologies. The activities align with the concepts of circular economy and sustainability.
The research focuses on the following areas:
-
Treatment of industrial wastewater (reducing phosphorus and nitrogen, heavy metals)
-
Production of biologically valuable substances using microalgae technologies (especially from wastewater – circular economy)
-
Aquaponics and hydroponics in combination with microalgae technologies
-
Treatment of waste gases, reducing CO2 levels, and the associated production of algae for various purposes, based on the chosen algae strain
The research team brings an engineering perspective to this multidisciplinary activity. Its natural area of expertise is the ability to conduct detailed process examinations and simulations. The facility is capable of developing devices in line with the requirements of Industry 4.0 and Agriculture 4.0. Thanks to the facility's know-how, it will be possible to create a digital twin of the examined devices and optimize both the design and management of the equipment. The facility, due to its mathematical knowledge, will contribute with image analysis capabilities and statistical processing of measured data. It also has the ability to equip the devices with advanced measuring technology and professionally assess and evaluate the measured data (Industry 4.0), or create control software for the monitored process.
The facility possesses precise knowledge of the ongoing processes, both functionally, energetically, and economically.
