Článek přináší přehled vybraných výsledků z algebry a z teorie čísel, které jsou nezbytné pro studium eliptických křivek nad konečnými poli. Motivací je ECC kryptografie. Článek obsahuje i vybrané algoritmy.

The paper gives an overview of selected results from algebra and number theory, which are necessary for the study of elliptic curves over finite fields. The motivation is ECC cryptography. The paper contains also selected algorithms.
