Original abstract
An automotive seat is an interface which interacts with a passenger body surface. In addition, it creates a water vapor and thermal barrier that is in many cases unwanted due to its negative impact on thermal comfort. Active seat ventilation helps reduce this effect; however there are no excessive studies on this. Therefore, it is crucial to examine effects of seat ventilation under variety of conditions. The project goals are as follows: Evaluation of two seat ventilation strategies (air suction and blowing) under variety of environmental conditions in the BUT climate chamber. Collection of subjective data via survey on ventilated seat (thermal sensation and thermal comfort). Objective data acquisition on ventilated seat (surface temperature, humidity, pressure distribution).
