Original abstract

The presentation includes interim results of the development of an automatic pellet boiler for agropellet incineration and research on the content, properties, and emission of solid pollutants during incineration of agropellets in domestic boilers. The reason is the strengthening of legislation that forces manufacturers to improve their products and due to the general environmental aspect. Emissions of solid pollutants during incineration are a significant problem; with about one-third of the emissions of solid pollutants leaking into the air originate in local sources of solid fuels. At present, a wide range of domestic boilers is available on the markets which, according to the manufacturer’s specifications, allow incineration of pellets from alternative or agricultural materials. These boilers, however, have been certified when burning wood pellets. As the published interim results show, the burning of so-called agropellets significantly changes the emission values of these boilers.
