Original abstract
CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers) have found use in many applications where low weight, stiffness, and thermal stability are priority. Although these attributes are considered when designing sport optics devices, CFRP haven’t found use in sport optics yet. The main reason being the precision of CFRP parts. In this paper, the authors deal with precision bonding of metal inserts to CFRP as one of possible solutions. Results show, that additional machining may be necessary.
