Original abstract

A description parameter of burst type of acoustic emission signal is an "energy" envelope. The Hilbert Transform is a method to find it. The determination of the damping or decay rate at resonance from the impulse response function and the estimation of propagation time from the cross-correlation function are using Hilbert Transform.
