Original abstract
The technique of LIBS (also known under the name of Laser Micro Analysis – LMA or LIPS – Laser Induced Plasma Spectroscopy) offers a simple, fast, real-time method of elemental analysis. Any material, solid, liquid or gaseous can be analyzed, and none or very little sample preparation is needed. Detection limits for solid samples are usually in the range of a few tens parts per million.
