Original abstract

Our aim was to compare devices for nasal continuous positive airway pressure (NCPAP) application in neonates by measuring the pressure of the device and flow delivered to the patient. The following NCPAP delivery devices were tested: [Babyflow-Draeger (sizes XS, S, M, L, XL), Vygon single tube 2.5 mm, Vygon double tube 1.5 mm, RAM cannula (for newborns under 1.0 kg), Argyle pharyngeal cannula]. The generated flow was set to 8 liter/min (10 liter/min for L and XL), positive end-expiratory pressure was set to 5 mbar (6 mbar for L and XL).
