The plane stress fracture toughness of semi-crystalline polypropylene (PP) and amorphous acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) was measured by the Essential Work of Fracture (EWF) approach using tensile loaded double edge notched tension (DENT) specimens. The effect of notch preparation on fracture toughness of mentioned materials was investigated. It was found out that selected method of notching significantly influence the values of fracture toughness.

Práce se zabývá měřením lomové houževnatosti semi – krystalického polypropylenu (PP) a amorfního acrylonitril butadien styrenu (ABS). Měření bylo provedeno na zkušebních vzorcích typu DENT s využitím Essential Work of Fracture koncepce.
